Steyer Nature Preserve

 

Matt Miller is the manager for Steyer Nature Preserve. You may contact him at 419-448-4388 or you can email him at Steyer_nature_park@yahoo.com . Meeting will be held on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 at the Pleasant Township House on Pleasant Township Road 15 in Old Fort.

The park is located at 5901 North County Road 33, Tiffin, Ohio 44883 along the Sandusky River just east of Fort Seneca.  The entrance is on the south side of the new Abbotts Bridge over the Sandusky River.  The park trail system, parking area, and ODNR/DNAP canoe access are on the east side of the road.

ODNR/DNAP Canoe access

Hunting and fishing (hunting is restricted to lands on the south side of the park which are connected to the ODNR/DOW Sugar Creek Wildlife Area)  For hunting permission contact the Seneca County Park Director, Roland Zimmerman.

 

Steyer Nature Preserve Workdays:

Volunteers are encourage to participate in nature preserve workdays.  If you would like to volunteer, contact Matt Miller or just show up at the cabin off Twp. Road 143 past the cemetery.  No special skills are required, just a desire to assist the development of the park.
