Forrest Preserve is 23.5 acres
of the most picturesque land in Seneca County, divided by Honey Creek. It is the
intent of the Park District to allow this scenic area to remain in its natural
state. It includes:
- Walking trails
- Wetlands
- Abundant wildlife
- Grassland
- Woodlands
- Bluff overlooking Honey
Creek
- Access steps
- Picnic tables
- Benches
- Stone parking lot
The original land was donated to the park district in 2003 by George L. Forrest
in memory of his parents Clair and Eunice (Mack) Forrest. Additional acreage was
acquired with a grant. Park manager Doug Sampson directs the efforts of many
volunteers who have cleared trails and maintain the area for public use.
